Middle East employers warned change your ways or risk losing talent

Employers in the Middle East risk losing key talent unless they pay more attention to the needs of their high performers, research by specialist recruitment provider ReThink MEA suggests.
Mon, 15 July 2013Employers in the Middle East risk losing key talent unless they pay more attention to the needs of their high performers, research by specialist recruitment provider ReThink MEA suggests.

According to a survey of professionals in the region, the lack of career progression is a major issue, along with increased pressure to deliver more for less, despite the economic downturn. This has lead to increased concerns over job security. Another issue was the lack of opportunities for those over the age of 40.

Gavin Smith, director at ReThink MEA, says the responses reveal a number of factors that need to be addressed for organisations to attract and retain the best talent.

“If companies in the area continue down this path of increasing pressure, limited reward and a lack of opportunities, they will find themselves losing high performers to competitors and struggling to bring new talent on board,” Smith says.
