Taiwan hits heights, Brazil hiring strong finds Manpower survey

Wed, 12 Jun 2013A net 40% of employers in Taiwan expect to increase headcount in Q3 2013 – by far the highest figure recorded globally in recruitment firm Manpower's Employment Outlook Survey.

The poll of over 65,000 public and private sector employers in 42 countries worldwide saw Brazil as the second quickest to recruit, with a net employment outlook of 28%.

The net employment outlook is calculated by subtracting from the percentage of firms expecting to increase headcount in the coming quarter the number of companies looking to downsize.

The UK stayed at 6%, unchanged since the previous quarter, the joint-second highest value in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region between Romania (10%), tied with Austria and Norway.

The US continues to see strong hiring potential, with a net 16% of firms recruiting, up from 13% last quarter.

Three countries saw their figures shift by nine percentage points, with Argentina and Japan seeing hiring intentions soften to 7% and 14% respectively, while Spain’s -11% balance in Q2 has improved to a less dramatic -2%.
