Tue, 4 Jun 2013Executive recruitment firm Heidrick & Struggles has responded to media reports by confirming “that it has been approached on a preliminary basis regarding a possible sale of the company”, and is considering that offer.

A statement from the board says it has “decided to explore strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the company and continuing to execute against the company's strategic plan as an independent company”.

The company says it is a “long standing policy… not to confirm or deny market rumours or speculation”, but was responding to media reports. This includes a report in the Canadian Financial Post that suggests it would be privatised – and also suggested a deal for its larger US-based executive search rival Korn/Ferry International.

Heidrick says it “does not intend to comment further regarding this matter”, most likely until a board review has taken place.
