Florida-resident and Puerto Rican immigrant Edgardo Toucet is suing a staffing agency he worked for and a manager at the firm after a foam-cutting machine cut off his penis and testicles.

This is according to US news site Courthouse News Service, which explains that according to the complaint Toucet, who does not speak or write English, was sent by Spartan Staffing to work at a Future Foam manufacturing plant near Orlando, where fellow Spartan’s Barbara Pidgers was responsible for ensuring compliance and safety training for on-site workers.

The Courthouse News says Toucet claims he “received no orientation or other formalized instruction or training in preparation for his temporary work assignment” working on the cutting machine.

He also alleges: "Spartan was aware that on previous occasions other leased Spartan employees on temporary assignment to the Future Foam plaint were injured in prior similar accidents while operating the same peeler machine."

Future Foam is not an accused party in the lawsuit.
