Three firms are to open up 100 new jobs apiece across the US.

Broadcaster al-Jazeera, in preparation for launching a US news channel, has advertised over 100 job vacancies in New York and Washington, reports The Guardian.

Jobs include 54 roles for producers, 20 for editors and one for a television presenter.

Global manufacturing firm Michelin has announced a $200m (£127m) expansion of its Starr, South Carolina manufacturing plant, creating 100 new jobs.

The investment will increase its rubber compound production for its tyre production, with operations beginning in early 2014. Nearly 9,000 of Michelin’s 22,000 North American employees will then be based in South Carolina, following a total of $1.15bn (£0.7bn) investments in the past 21 months.

According to local news channel WBIR, automotives parts producer Huf North America will invest $20m in adding a large extension to its current facility, expected to be complete by the end of the year, with customer deliveries beginning next year. Around 100 new jobs will be created.
