US restaurant chain TGI Friday’s, Japanese logistics provider Vantec Europe and UK broadcaster Sky are due to commence hiring drives which will see 953 new job opportunities.

Sky
The broadcaster is embarking on a campaign to recruit 90 apprentices across a number of business areas.

New hires will start in the summer in roles including broadcast operations, home service & supply and technology. Five marketing & creative vacancies are only available to residents of the London Borough of Hounslow local to the role.

TGI Friday’s
The restaurateurs will open six new sites nationally, the first to open coming in Leeds in March and the second in Glasgow in August, with the other four destinations as yet unconfirmed.

This move will create around 600 jobs and 25 management positions, with recruitment set to be directed through the company’s dedicated hiring website fridoids.co.uk.

TGI Friday’s first opened in the UK in 1986 and has 55 UK outlets to date.

Vantec Europe
Vantec, which is owned by Japanese manufacturer Hitachi, will create 230 new jobs in Sunderland, according to a BBC report.

This follows the award of £2.7m Regional Growth Fund to the company to aid the £22.5m new warehouse that will be built.
