Chrysler and Fiat chief executive Sergio Marchionne today confirmed Chrysler’s plans to hire 1,250 workers and invest $240m (£151m) at three Michigan plants so it can ramp up production of its engines and pickups.
All of the jobs announced today will be new ones because Chrysler doesn’t have any workers who are laid off, the company said.
Meanwhile, global customer care provider Sitel is adding 100 jobs to its customer call centre in Las Vegas.
