Digital recruitment group Evenbase has made a minority investment in Workana, an Argentina-based online marketplace for freelance and remote workers across Latin America.

According to Evenbase, whose portfolio includes recruitment website Jobsite and multi-posting and CV search software firm Broadbean Technology: “Workana is a perfect fit with Evenbase’s strategy of international growth via investments along the recruitment value chain.”

Evenbase now has activity in 55 countries. “Workana does indeed provide Evenbase with a foothold in Latin America, but regional capabilities alone do not interest us. What really caught our eye was the global potential of their model,” said chief executive Keith Potts.

Buenos Aires-based Workana launched in April. Available in English, Portuguese and Spanish, 600 projects have already been posted on the website, attracting an average of 20 bids from among the 20,000 workers using it.
