INTERNATIONAL: Top firm CEOs slow on LinkedIn take-up, finds CTPartners

Fri, 12 Oct 2012
Just 3% of Asia-Pacific-based chief executives of Fortune 500 firms post their profiles on LinkedIn, compared to 7% in the US – the same as the global average – and 12% in Europe.

This is according to CTPartners Executive Search, whose own CEO suggests that the fact that few Fortune 500 CEOs are from the tech sector might be part of the reason behind this. He also notes that company size has little bearing, as “CEOs who are on LinkedIn hail from both the largest and smallest Global 500 companies”.
According to LinkedIn, it has over 160m members worldwide, including executives of some description from all the 2011 Fortune 500 companies as members.

CTPartners' data is available online here, and also show that ‘career opportunities’ was the ‘interested in’ sector that CEOs were least likely to choose.
