INTERNATIONAL Malaysia: Halal gelatines factory to employ ‘over 500’

Managing director Kadhar Shah Abdul Razak says that the company will initially offer 200-300 jobs and once full operations begin in 2015, it will need at least 500 workers.

He adds that the company is currently “studying gelatine production in Brazil, India and Pakistan” to find the right technology and processes for the new plant.

Currently, reports news agency Bernama, most gelatine used in Malaysia is imported and its status as halal cannot be so readily guaranteed.
