INTERNATIONAL Greece: UK clear leader for workers considering exit

Fri, 10 Aug 2012
The UK is by a clear margin the favoured country for Greek workers considering a move away from the country, finds a surveyed of 162,495 workers globally commissioned by jobsite totaljobs.com and data provider Intelligence Group.

A total of 55% of those surveyed said they would consider moving to the UK, with Germany (43%) and the US (42%) also popular destinations.
Remaining in Europe was clearly a strong preference, as the fourth and fifth most considered destinations were Switzerland (38%) and the Netherlands (35%).

Unemployment in Greece has risen from 16.2% in April of last year to 22.5% in 2012, with more than one in two Greeks under the age of 25 unemployed.
