Contracts/Deals: Capita makes further acquisition

Outsourcing firm Capita has acquired medical assessment and criminal justice support firm Reliance Secure Task Management for £20m.

The firm’s current revenues should account for an annual total of £75m, although it made a £5.7m loss in the 11 months to 31 March.

Capita has been on the acquisition trail in 2012, having raised £274m through the placing of new ordinary shares in the company in April for this purpose, at which point it had spent £91m on acquisitions and projected it would spend that again in the remainder of the year.
