The food and drink sector has previously had a tendency to invest heavily in its factories and hardware, placing less emphasis on modern HR processes.

This is the view of Tony Allen, general manager at industry job board Yourfoodjob.com (YFJ). But he tells Recruiter that since the site launched in 2006, there has been a discernable change.Allen was speaking to Recruiter before YFJ’s inaugural People Awards, launching this year in association with the magazine, and due to be held 6 November in Manchester. Entries in a variety of HR and talent categories will be accepted on the event’s website through 23 August.

The judging panel, to be chaired by Recruiter editor DeeDee Doke, was announced in the July edition of the magazine.

Hear what Allen has to say in the video below, and check back on recruiter.co.uk for more from him and YFJ investor Stephen Jones in the coming weeks.
