Jackie Orme, the former chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), passed away yesterday (19 July).

Jackie Orme, the former chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), passed away yesterday (19 July).

The news of her death from pancreatic cancer, with which she was diagnosed last summer, was reported by People Management, the official magazine of the CIPD.She was 46, and had been the CIPD chief executive since April 2008, before being succeeded in May by Peter Cheese.
