Recruitment consultancy VMA Group has launched a freelance offering as part of its interim practice, recruiting external & internal communications and HR professionals, particularly focusing on the mid-level market.

The team will work with clients looking to cover maternity leave and long-term sickness, as well as those looking to ease the pressure of an increased workload.

Vicki Jay, head of the interim management and freelance practice, says: “While the interim management practice continues to grow, specifically helping clients to manage projects during times of change, we have seen an increasing demand from clients for communications and HR professionals to take on more tactical ‘caretaking’ roles.

“We’ve also seen an increase in fixed-term contracts – a more attractive option for candidates who see themselves going back into permanent work in the future.”
