IRG to launch social platform IRG Community

Thu, 14 Jun 2012
The Independent Recruiting Group (IRG), a social enterprise representing nearly 200 small independent recruitment consultancies in the UK, is to launch a social network platform for the industry tomorrow [15 June].

Speaking exclusively to Recruiter before the launch, Sean O’Donoghue (right), founder of the IRG, which is free to join, says that in the year since the IRG was formed, “we have been learning from our members”, hence the launch of the IRG Community (IRGC) platform.
Operating primarily as a social network, the IRGC allows small owner-managed recruitment agencies the opportunity to community, collaborate, share ideas, share business, learn more and earn more.

Previously closed to non-members, as well as a whole host of new features and services, from tomorrow potential candidates and clients will be able to visit the IRGC website “to find some of the most professional and ethical independent recruiters in the country”, explains O’Donoghue.

He continues: “Members of the IRGC now have the opportunity to post their vacancies onto our unique job board, which in turn will be accessible to visitors on the site. For candidates, IRG Jobs is the only job board in the country that is used exclusively by member firms of the IRG.

“What does that mean? With all of our members signed up to the IRG Code Of Conduct, candidates can be sure that not only will all vacancies advertised on IRG Jobs be genuine in nature, they can also be assured that the level of service they will receive from each IRG member will be of the highest standard in our industry.”

Other new features include the IRG Marketplace, where IRGC members can find exclusive IRG member discounts on tools and services, and IRG blogs.

Looking forward, O’Donoghue tells Recruiter that with “close to 200 member firms already, our aims with this new platform are to reach close to 1,000 members by the end of this year”.

Very exciting times, amazing to see how far the IRG has come with the support and also feedback from its members. Looking forward to seeing everyone one the new community platform. Onwards and upwards!

I've got to say the release of this platform has been a long time in the making and although a lot of us have been involved it wouldn't have even happened without Sean's original vision for a better recruitment industry.

We're really proud to have gathered the members we have so far and this new technology is exactly the type of thing we want to be giving back to the members on top of all the discounts that we're offering for some key services.

I think 1,000 members by the end of the year is very achievable when you consider the number of agencies out there that would benefit - some in small ways and some in big ways - from being an IRG member. That's the thing though isn't it, it's free to join and there's something on there for everyone...
