Technology and business services firm Connextions is to create 550 new jobs in Centennial, Colorado when it opens a new solutions centre next month.

Connextions is part of UnitedHealth Group’s Optum health services business, which already has nearly 600 employees in Colorado.

The roles will be for licensed and non-licensed insurance agents, earning an average salary of $30k-$40k (£19k-£25k), with free College of Insurance training provided for eligible recruits.

Elsewhere in Colorado, Connextions itself has had a facility outside of Boulder for the past decade, and has invested $4m in the new 45,000 sq ft Centennial premises.

Colorado governor John Hickenlooper says that the decision “is recognition of Colorado's business-friendly environment”.
