International recruitment firm Recruit Co is planning to list its shares within the next few years.

News agency Reuters comments that this “would likely rank among the biggest initial public offerings in Japan in recent memory”.

The plans were outlined at a shareholder meeting last week (22 June).

The announcement has been of particular interest, Reuters notes, because when it previously listed in the 1980s, “it became embroiled in the famous ‘Recruit shares-for-favours’ corruption scandal that brought down the Japanese government”.
