Ann Swain, chief executive of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), blogs for
Recruiter from the
organisation’s Trade Delegation to China.
Day 4’s blog comes below the ad:
Crystal Liu of Baker Tilly provided a breakdown of personal and corporate taxation in China (not too daunting), Daniel Leung of our hosts, Squire Sanders, went further into the best methodology for setting up here and took a pretty pragmatic approach(!).
Then our panel members from Morgan McKinley, NES, Antal and Empresaria answered a huge barrage of questions from the group with an openness and honesty that was truly impressive.
After a very late lunch and a quick freshen up, we donned our “glad rags” for the reception to honour the Queen’s Birthday and Diamond Jubilee, as the guests of Brian Davidson, the British Consul-General.
What a great evening. Over 400 business dignitaries and Sebastian Wood, Her Majesty’s Ambassador, mixing at a garden party with British themed pavilions and even fish ‘n’ chips, shepherds pie, haggis and rhubarb crumble for dinner.
A fitting end to an amazing week!
This is the last day of Swain’s blog – see
here for yesterday’s filing.
