Fourth Scottish Malmaison to add 120 Dundee jobs
Thu, 7 Jun 2012
Hotel chain Malmaison will create 120 new jobs when it opens the group’s 13th hotel nationwide in Dundee.
Dundee is Scotland’s fourth-largest city, and the 91-bedroom hotel will be the chain’s fourth in Scotland.
It will stand on the site of the old Tay Hotel, a listed city centre landmark building, and is part of a £1bn Dundee Central Waterfront Development.
Redevelopment work is being undertaken by MEC Services, due to start in spring of next year with the hotel opening in May 2013.
First Minister Alex Salmond said: “[Holding company] MWB’s decision to open a new Malmaison in Dundee reflects the significant opportunities for development and growth in the city.”
