Contracts/Deals: Bullhorn acquired by Vista Equity

Fri, 15 Jun 2012
Recruitment software company Bullhorn has been acquired by a private equity firm for a nine-figure sum.

Previously, most shares were held by Highland Capital and General Catalyst Partners.
US-based Vista Equity Partners is the majority stakeholder, with over $6.6bn (£4.2bn) in committed capital across a number of software companies. A Bullhorn spokesperson told Recruiter that Bullhorn’s senior management team still holds a “significant stake” in the business.

Bullhorn will operate as a stand-alone company.

Vista principal Alan Cline says “we see a tremendous opportunity on the horizon as we work together to fuel the next stage of the company’s growth”.

Art Papas, co-founder and chief executive of Bullhorn, says he is “thrilled to deliver such an outstanding return to our shareholders and to continue to build upon our success with the great team at Vista”.
