Women Like Us launch Timewise

Tue, 1 May 2012
Part-time recruiter and jobsite Timewise Recruitment and Timewise Jobs have been launched by the owners of specialist recruiter Women Like Us (WLU), with funding from the Social Business Trust (SBT).

Social enterprise WLU offer career help and advice for people looking to make work and family life fit together, while SBT is a partnership of Bain & Company, Clifford Chance, Credit Suisse, Ernst & Young, Permira and Thomson Reuters, which awarded WLU £200k growth capital.
Of the 25,000 professionals Timewise has on its books, 83% have over six years of professional experiences, with 16% coming from a marketing background, 12% from a financial and accounting background and 8% from an HR discipline.

Timewise Jobs is powered by jobs board operator Madgex, while the website of Timewise Recruitment has been built by recruitment specialist web designers Reverse Delta.

WLU co-founder Karen Mattison MBE, who heads Timewise, says that when founding Women Like Us, “incredible talent, from all kinds of backgrounds – solicitors, bankers, SEO experts, graphic designers – registered with us in high volumes.

“Employers immediately saw the advantage: one place from where to access highly trained, highly experienced staff, at less cost. We hit a completely untapped market.”

Damon Buffini, founding partner of Permira and SBT chair, says: “Timewise represents thousands of people who have years of skill and experience under their belts, and who want and need to work part time for all kinds of reasons. Until now, this hidden pool of talent has had no representation. Employers have wanted to tap into it, but haven’t known where to go. Timewise will change all that.”
