RESULTS: Kelly Services revenue up 1% in Q1

Workforce solutions firm Kelly Services saw Q1 2012 revenues of $1.35bn (£840.6m), a 1.2% rise compared to the same period the previous year, with gross profit totalling $223.7m, up 5.9% on the previous period.
President and chief executive Carl T Camden says: “We are pleased to report solid quarterly performance in spite of the economic challenges that continue to test the sustainability of this recovery.
“We remain committed to meeting our customers’ needs for flexible, innovative solutions for managing their workforce across the full spectrum of talent – from traditional staffing to professional and technical specialties, to outsourcing and consulting programmes.”
Financial highlights by segment (all by constant currency)
- Americas: revenue from services (including fee-based income) up 3.3% on Q1 2011 to $919.4m, gross profit up 8.3% on Q1 2011 to $138.2m
- EMEA: revenue down 4.1% to $255.2m, gross profit down 4.6% to $44.8m
- APAC: revenue down 10.5% to $101.1m, gross profit down 3.5% to $18.3m
- Outsourcing and consulting services (OCG): revenue up 27.5% to $86.7m, gross profit up 36.3% to $23.1m
