Oil firm Aker continues Scottish job creation
Wed, 16 May 2012
Oil & gas services firm Aker Solutions will create 500 new jobs in the North-East of Scotland, announces First Minister Alex Salmond.
These are in addition to 350 new jobs created since August 2011. The new jobs will come across all business segments of Aker.
Salmond says that oil & gas “remains a vitally important part of the economy, generating jobs and prosperity”.
Anne MacColl, chief executive of development body Scottish Development International, says that her organisation is “working closely with Aker Solutions both in Scotland and in Oslo to provide a fully integrated package of support, including account management, to help the company realise its commitment here”.
