Around 120 new jobs will be created at a new contact centre for telecommunications company BT in Belfast’s Riverside Tower.
The new venture is being supported by Invest Northern Ireland through £568k funding under its Jobs Fund, with the Northern Irish Department for Employment and Learning also offering over £108k of training support under its Assured Skills programme.
Colm O’Neill, chief executive of BT Northern Ireland, says: “Invest NI’s support has allowed us to move quickly to the recruitment stage so that the centre can become effective as soon as possible. The support from DEL under Assured Skills will help us deliver quality workplace training to the new recruits, who will be required to deliver a range of services.”
Announcing the investment, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said: “This is another boost for the Business Services sector in Northern Ireland, which is a key driver of economic growth. The jobs being created by this project will contribute £2.9m a year in salaries to the economy.”
