INTERNATIONAL: Asia the biggest growth area for global assignments

Tue, 29 May 2012
Asia is the likely biggest growth area for global assignments across the next year, according to 66% of respondents to a survey conducted by engineering and manufacturing recruiter JAM Recruitment.

The survey questioned 160 professionals who manage global mobility and globally mobile employees across a number of industries.
It also shows that 63% say demand for the services of global mobility professionals will increase in the next 12 months – they currently hold the position of relatively niche specialists, with 79% of respondents working in teams of less than 15 people.

The minority (10%) who did not expect to see growth in demand for global mobility services said that they thought the high cost of international assignments might lead to a downturn in the market.

After Asia, the Middle East and South America were the biggest growth regions predicted.
