Software firm GFI Software has added a secure data backup function to its MAX RemoteManagement platform for managed services providers (MSPs).

The cloud-based solution comes in the wake of a report from technology researchers Gartner that shows that in the wake of flooding in Thailand last year, the cost of hard disk drives may increase anywhere between 5% and 20% this year.Dr Alistair Forbes, general manager of the GFI MAX business unit, says: “This is our fourth major technology integration into the platform maximising the breadth of services that our partners can manage for their customers. GFI MAX Managed Online Backup allows them to increase their revenue by providing competitively priced, highly efficient, encrypted backup just as more and more customers look to adopt cloud services.”
