Outsourcing firm Capita has acquired clinical decision support and software firm Clinical Solutions for an initial consideration of £20m as it continues on its 2012 acquisition spree.

The acquired firm has 160 staff, primarily based in Basingstoke, and turned over £24.2m in 2011, making £6.5m profit.

As reported by recruiter.co.uk in April, Capita has made the bast part of £300m available for acquisitions from placing extra shares and has now spent nearly half of this amount in 2012 to date, having hit £100m with the purchase of medical screening provider Medicals Direct last week (22 May).
