APSCo to visit Beijing and Shanghai
Fri, 4 May 2012
The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) is to lead a trade delegation to Beijing and Shanghai in June.
The group of 18-20 chief executives and director-level recruitment professionals will be jointly hosted by the body alongside UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), with support from both the British Embassy in Beijing and the British Consulate General in Shanghai, including various events such as a ‘meet the potential clients’ event.
APSCo chief executive Ann Swain says that China is “the great economic success story of the past 30 years”, telling Recruiter that there are “vast” opportunities for recruiters “to start up a business with the potential of the biggest population in the world”.
She adds: “Top-end recruitment is the biggest growth area and they do look West to see how to do these things”, also saying that engineering is perhaps the sector with the greatest potential for recruiters in the country, followed by IT and finance.”
This latest event continues APSCO’s series of taking trade delegations abroad. Previous trips have included journeys to the UAE, Qatar, Singapore and Brazil.
