VIDEO: Difficult balance must be struck when selecting leaders, says Bungay
Mon, 30 Apr 2012
When recruiting leaders for their clients, and indeed when looking for potential leaders within their own business, recruiters would do well to strike a balance between the charismatic orator and calculating strategist, author Stephen Bungay tells Recruiter in this video:
Bungay was talking at an event hosted by Recruiter discussing his book The Art of Action.
Also present at the event were Hamish Nisbet, EMEA talent acquisition leader at GE Capital; George Griffin, HR firm Penna’s director of learning and development; Alastair Cook, chief executive of HR recruiter Digby Morgan; interim executive Matt Hudson; Hung Lee, the founder and director of social recruitment consultancy Wise Man Say; and Tony Vickers, director of finance and accountancy recruiter Balance Recruitment.
The participants at the event give views on lessons learnt and perspectives on leadership in their companies and careers, and the broader recruitment industry and beyond, in the video below:
For more on the event see the full report in the next edition of Recruiter, out 18 May.
