The Anglosphere is top of the bill as a desired destination for expat workers, shows a survey of over 2,300 people put together by business school ESCP Europe for recruiter Hydrogen.
The report, ‘Global Professionals on the Move’, shows 13% of respondents list the US as their first choice for working overseas – down from 18% last year, followed by Australia and the UK in second and third place, at 9% each, and Singapore (6%) and Canada (5%) completing the top five.
These are followed by: Switzerland, Hong Kong, France (all 4%), UAE, Germany, Spain, New Zealand (all 3%), China, Brazil and Italy (all 2%).
The report also shows that 72% of employees see international experience as either important or very important, a rise of nine percentage points since last year, and higher than the 59% of employers who rated international experience as important or very important.
