Mon, 23 Apr 2012
Healthcare firm Baxter International is to open a new site employing 1,500 in Georgia, with related investment due to create over 2,000 further jobs across various US locations.

The new Georgia facility will support growth of the firm’s plasma-based treatments for conditions including immunities disorders and trauma.
Investments at the site should exceed $1bn (£621m) over the next five years, and construction will begin this year, with commercial production beginning in 2016.

The related jobs include 200 in Illinois, supporting production of Flexbumin, the firm’s plasma-based albumin treatment in a flexible container.
