INTERNATIONAL Ireland: Dealz opening 10 stores, 300 new jobs to come

Wed, 18 Apr 2012
Discount retailer Dealz is due to recruit for 300 new jobs at 10 new stores by the end of the financial year.

The firm, which is part of UK-based Poundland, currently has nine stores in Ireland. Goods at its Irish stores are generally priced €1.49 (£1.23).
New stores will come in Clonmel, Lisduggan and Mullingar, among other locations.

Since the company launched in Ireland in August 2011, it has created over 300 jobs and invested over €2m into the economy.

Karl Stewart, director of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald, one of two property agents for Dealz, says: “Dealz will have opened 10 stores in Ireland in a relatively short period of time, which is testament to their professional team and the quick decision making process.

“The success of these openings demonstrates to landlords what a positive addition Dealz is, not only as a retailer, but as a footfall driver to local towns.”
