Hotel chain Hilton Worldwide is looking to fill 700 new jobs and 100 apprenticeships as part of a careers week that will “highlight that hospitality does offer careers and not just short-term jobs”.
This is according to a spokesperson for the firm, speaking to Recruiter on the launch of the recruitment drive.
In addition to the 800 new opportunities opened, the firm has previously announced 1,500 new jobs due to be created at 18 new sites to be built over the next three years.
The careers week involves a number of events, including hotels making school and university visits, working alongside local Job Centres and social media promotion of these events.
A key aim of the campaign, the company spokesperson tells Recruiter, is to show that the sector offers real careers “that encompass all disciplines, from hotel operations, management, sales, marketing, finance, and so on, in an effort to encourage more people to consider a career in the industry”.
