Retailer Waitrose is to open six new central London convenience stores, known as ‘little Waitrose’, creating 350 jobs.

New stores will come in Fulham Palace Road, Muswell Hill, Parsons Green and Vauxhall, and another two locations to be confirmed.

Waitrose director of store development, Diana Hunter, says: “Today’s announcement underlines the role little Waitrose will play in driving our growth and our ambition to make us accessible and convenient for everyone in London.”

The new jobs will be advertised on the firm’s website, and the company will also work with local Jobcentre Plus branches to find candidates for interviews.

The new Fulham Palace Road stores has already seen 1,000 people apply for 85 roles ahead of it 20 March opening.
