International roundup

UK
Jobs aggregator Workcircle has expanded internationally with websites in the US, India, China, Hong Kong, Australia and the Gulf. The seven new international sites are being opened following Workcircle’s launch of 11 job sector sites last month.

Europe
Commitment to employees is a key element of an effective culture and treatment of employees in bad times will be remembered by them in
good times, claims a report by business consultants BCG and European Association of People Management (EAPM). The report adds business leaders should not ignore this, as demographics mean that Europe’s companies will see skills shortages in the future.

Dubai
Finance recruiter Coningham Lee is pulling out of a planned office opening in Dubai as a result of the slowdown there. Director Matt
Coningham told Recruiter: “Rather than opening an office in Dubai, two employees fly out there every couple of months to meet clients.”

US
RBS Invoice Finance is to provide oil and gas recruiter Mentor IMC’s Houston office with funding to supplement new development opportunities
in the US market. John Richards, chief executive of Mentor IMC, told Recruiter that the company is recruiting in the US on the back of sales success: “We are going to bring on additional staff, both from the UK and the US.”
