Australia
The jobless rate in Australia rose to a four-year high of 5.2% in February, reports The Australian newspaper. The month saw a loss of 53,800 full-time jobs, meaning that the jobless rate was higher than the 5% economists had predicted.

India
Hiring intentions are strongest in India, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey. India has recorded more positive
intentions than any other country, while employers in South Africa, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Norway are reporting positive, but modest, second-quarter hiring activity.

USA
The state of Montana is experiencing a shortage of game wardens despite extensive efforts to recruit, reports the Great Falls Tribune. Jim Kropp, head of fish, wildlife and parks for the state of Montana, said: “We have been hiring our tails off to get fully staffed.”

Bulgaria
Bulgaria has significantly reduced the number of managerial/professional staff being fired despite the economic downturn, claims the Global Snapshot report from recruiter Antal.

New Zealand
The defence force in New Zealand may have to slow down its recruitment drive as it does not have enough money, website nznews.co.uk reveals. This is despite continued staffing shortages.
