INTERNATIONAL: Monster cuts 400 jobs
Jobs board Monster intends to eliminate roughly 400 positions globally – equating to 7% of its workforce.
The firm issued a statement saying: “Moving forward, we will focus on rolling out these innovations globally and growing revenue through an increase in sales & marketing activity consistent with our historical norms.”
A spokesperson for the firm confirms that sales & marketing departments will not be hit, adding that the firm has plans “to add revenue-generating positions opportunistically throughout 2012”.
The statement concludes: “We appreciate the effort and contribution of our nearly 6,000 employees in helping us achieve our continued growth.”
