Hospitality attracting all comers
The hospitality sector is attracting candidates from various industries, according to recruiters.
Mark Norris, chief executive at hospitality specialist Profile, told Recruiter that candidates from a variety of disciplines now think they can turn their hand to hospitality.
“We are getting all sorts of highly qualified people from other industries. Doctors, lawyers and others who have a gift with people and think there might be a good career for them in hospitality.”
Emma Lumsden, director at The Espirit Group, adds: “We certainly get a constant stream of people to find out whether there is administration work, whether they want to further their career in the events industry. There is a lot of movement around the industry and from different sectors, where before we would have got them from catering college or event management school.”
