FT 6,000 additional jobs story ‘inaccurate’ says Santander’s HR director
The HR director of Santander has refuted a story in yesterday’s Financial Times that the bank is on the verge of hiring 6,000 extra staff.
According to the FT, “those familiar with [its] recruitment plans, say it is in the market for up to 6,000 over the next year or two.”
As reported by Recruiter on 30 July, Lloyd confirmed that Santander is currently recruiting 600 staff.
However, in an exclusive statement, Simon Lloyd told Recruiter: “The press report suggesting we are recruiting people above this number is inaccurate. Like any other company, the bank recruits many people each year as normal course of business to meet the requirements of staff turnover.”
