The resourcing department at law firm Eversheds is putting their money where their mouth is.
As we report in this issue, Eversheds has developed a well thought-out, two-tiered payment system, in connection with external recruiters, which defines how it wants its recruitment partnerships to work. Their external agency partners may not like the new specifications but there will be no question about what is expected of them. Then they can choose not to work with Eversheds, if the terms are not to their liking.
At least there is clarity and transparency about how it is all supposed to work. And to Eversheds’ credit, they have included some performance guidelines for themselves as well.
The entire package, complete with penalty clauses, probably won’t satisfy everyone, but this approach exemplifies a practical way of dealing with long-simmering concerns. This also continues Eversheds’ practice of consulting with their external partners on recruitment issues, as has been demonstrated in their recent drive to increase the representation of diverse candidates within their workforce.
Too often, agencies claim they don’t know what their clients really want. All credit to this client - they are making what they want perfectly clear.
