Demand for CSR specialists remains level
Salaries have remained level for corporate social responsibility (CSR) personnel, but budgets have been cut.
Andrew Cartland, managing director of Acre Resources, told Recruiter:
“Salaries have stayed the same compared to last year, which is a good thing in the current climate,” adding the demand remained fairly strong.
The average salary for a manager in the CSR sector increased marginally from £50k to £52k, according to Acre Resources’ latest salary survey.
The survey also recorded an increase in the number of female CSR specialists working in the sector, from 50% to 62% over the last year.
Cartland says: “There are various arguments as to why that might be, but there’s a lot more women working in things like community involvement. Men tend to be focused on climate change and the focus of CSR as a sector is becoming more focused on the community.”
The average budget controlled by CSR professionals has decreased. The number of professionals with a budget of £1m or more has dropped from to 24% to 21% over the year.
