The graduate recruitment plans of Deloitte remain unaffected by the recession, according to Sarah Shillingford, graduate recruitment partner at the accountancy and consultancy firm.

Shillingford says that the firm’s graduate intake hasn’t changed significantly and its 1 July our application process opened for 2010 with vacancies for around a 1,000 graduates to join Deloitte.

“While some of the major graduate employers are taking on a smaller number this year, it is not the case for all the big graduate employers. It’s important to make that distinction. Many students run the risk of feeling deflated and defeated by the job market before they even start to look for jobs. The current economic climate has not significantly affected our graduate recruitment plans.”
