County Durham gangmaster licence revoked
A County Durham gangmaster that provided workers to the forestry industry has had his licence revoked following his failure to respond to numerous GLA requests.
Campbell Sinclair, principal authority of NE Tree Company based in Ferryhill, was asked to give evidence that an Additional Licensing Condition had been resolved.
Despite the GLA requests and warnings that the licence would be revoked for non-compliance, no information was forthcoming.
Paul Whitehouse, chairman of the GLA, says: “We gave this gangmaster every chance to comply with the law. If that opportunity is not taken we have no choice but to revoke the licence.”
