Construction: Consultant partners announced for £45bn school development project
Government body Partnerships for Schools has announced its revised framework agreements for the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. The partner companies will advise on the continuing construction or renovation of every secondary school in England, in the largest single capital investment in education for 50 years.
Mark Calver, general manager of UK Construction Recruitment, told Recruiter the continued redevelopment of the country’s secondary state schools would provide a boost for business. “Those with long-term relationships with the contractors on government projects are set to benefit from the developments in the sectors. Any work we are doing with the government is as busy or busier than it ever has been, we have always felt government business was safe and the contractors who get the work always have a good credit rating.”
So far 50 BSF schools have opened and 1,000 more are scheduled for rebuild or upgrades in the programme.
The following companies will be included in the new Technical Advisory Framework:
Capita

Cyril Sweett

EC Harris
Entec UK
Faber Maunsell
Faithful & Gould
Gardiner & Theobald
