Everyone needs a mentor, a guide, a personal guru, if you will. and expertise.
And kudos to recruiter Goodman Masson for not only clearing the path but escorting women in that firm to a brighter, shinier future than they might otherwise have had through an innovative Women in Leadership programme. Our story on p6 details how it will identify future leaders, manage people’s careers, and create an environment for sharing knowledge
Why stop there? Obviously, such programmes cannot be created for every group of worker - but mentoring, as a rule, is in too short supply and is available to only the few. We need every great worker/professional there is, and in the modern workforce, there is not enough focus on nurturing potential in what might be called in internet parlance, the ’deep web’ finds, or people who have great, yet unexplored potential.
In-house and agency recruiters must learn to scope out the ’deep web’ candidates at every stage of their careers, allowing insightful leaders/ managers like Goodman Masson’s Guy Hayward to nurture them to their highest potential. What a treasure trove of talent awaits discovery. The pool pinpointed by Goodman Masson is just the tip of the iceberg as all of us work to resolve the talent dilemma.
