Barnes Kavelle helps Havells Sylvania employees
HR consultancy Barnes Kavelle has been chosen to guide lamp manufacturer Havells Sylvania ’s Shipley employees through the redundancy process.
Following the Shipley site’s closure, the firm’s warehousing and manufacturing will be moved to a purpose-built facility in India.
Barnes Kavelle will help employees come to terms with the impending redundancies and advise them on how best to equip themselves to find a new job.
Yvonne Lumley, who runs Barnes Kavelle’s career transition and coaching services, says: “Although an increasing number of companies are fulfilling their social responsibilities, many are still leaving their loyal workforce to fend for themselves after redundancies have been announced
“Sadly we are going through an extremely difficult period, which is resulting in large- scale job losses. It is essential this process is handled professionally through qualified consultants who are trained to deal with the psychological impact of redundancy as well as being able to provide expert guidance on the practical aspects of finding a new role.”
