Admin recruitment: First in, first out of recession
Admin recruitment will be among the first sectors to emerge after the recession, according to admin and secretarial recruiters.
David Morel, managing director at Tiger Recruitment, told Recruiter that the sector was generally three months ahead of other markets.
“This means that our industry was one of the first to see the effects of the economic crisis as companies across the board started to cut down their recruitment before making the redundancies we have seen in evidence over the last seven months.
“The good news is that we will come out first. When companies start to get busier, they will either hire temporary support or an administrator/PA to assist them.”
Faye Stephenson, director at Find a job, adds: “We have noticed that admin and secretarial is very quiet at the moment. I think admin will pick up. Once business picks up, you will need that back office function running to full capacity so all of your sales people can drive the business.”
