Cooking up a storm

Published: 23 July 2008

Hands up who likes über-modest, shy-and-retiring, f-fantastic chef of chefs Gordon Ramsey? You may revise your opinion after coming across this extract from Playing with fire, the follow-up to his autobiography Humble pie.

Speaking about his attempts to publish a previous tome, A Chef for All Seasons, the lovely Gordon expounds his 'appreciation' of a certain type of professional: "It also marked the start of my intense dislike for agents, whether they are estate, literary, talent or, my own personal favourite, recruitment vultures, whose appetite for commission far outstrips their inclination to do any work. Lazy a***holes."

Anyone going to return the compliment or shall we join in a rousing chorus of that well-known 1978 punk hit by Jilted John? (If you're too young to remember, Google it!)
